How We Help > Community Projects
Our members like nothing more than to roll up their sleeves and get busy. The community projects the League selects each year cover a wide spectrum, reflecting the ever-changing needs of our community and the varied interests of our members. In the past League year, our members donated over 1,200 volunteer hours. The Community Outreach committee handles the details in setting up these projects. Our members experience the pleasure of giving to the community while enjoying the fellowship of other League members.

Dress for Success NC - Members sort and inventory suits donated during the annual Send One Suit (SOS) drive |

Ronald McDonald House - Members “chop & chat”, preparing casseroles for use by families staying at Ronald McDonald House. These popular preparation sessions are fondly called 'Casserole Club' by league members.

UNC Hospital’s Beacon Child and Family Program - Members work as table hostesses during the annual Silent (No More!) Auction and Fundraiser

Habitat For Humanity - Members participate in the 'Women Build' project helping to construct houses for low income families |

Orange County Smart Start - Members assist with the garden clean-up project |

SECU Family House - Preparing and having dinner with families staying at the house |

IFC Homestart Donation Collection - Voluntary donation of items most needed by Homestart |

NC Children’s Promise - Members assist with the annual Kentucky Derby fundraising gala, tasks include check-in, lawn games, set-up and decorations, etc.

Communities in Schools - Members help with their Golf Fundraiser doing registration, prizes and contests, beverage carts, etc. |

Girls Just Wanna Have Fun - Members assistance with this annual fundraiser for Ronald McDonald House, includes set-up, taking tickets, helping patrons sign up for "indulgences", and helping with the silent auctions |

UNC Horizons - collecting canned goods for this UNC women’s shelter for their Thanksgiving meal |

Piedmont Health - Members collect magazine donations for use in the waiting room. |
